and without surgery
Personalised pain management that works
If osteoarthritis is increasingly affecting your daily life – whether due to pain, stiff joints or reduced mobility – you should not hesitate to come and see us. Using modern, non-surgical treatment methods and drawing on our many years of experience, we can help you to noticeably relieve your pain and provide targeted relief for your joints.
What exactly is osteoarthritis?
Osteoarthritis affects many people – often developing gradually. It causes the cartilage in the joints to break down bit by bit. As a result, the bones rub against each other, which can lead to pain, restricted movement and even inflammation. The joints that bear the body’s weight, such as the knees, hips and ankles, are frequently affected.
How can I tell if I have osteoarthritis?
- Pain when moving, and sometimes even at rest
- Stiff joints, particularly in the morning or after sitting for a long time
- Swelling and warmth in the joints
- Crunching or grinding noises when moving
- Reduced mobility in everyday life
If these symptoms sound familiar to you: don’t wait too long. The sooner we intervene, the better we can prevent further damage.
This is how we work – taking a holistic and personalised approach
At our practice, we offer a holistic approach to the treatment of osteoarthritis, tailored to your individual needs. Our aim is to relieve pain, improve joint function and slow down the progression of joint wear as much as possible.
1. Sorgfältige Diagnose
We take our time: for the physical examination, your medical history and – if necessary – diagnostic imaging such as X-rays, ultrasound or MRI.
2. Wir wählen die Therapie, die zu Ihnen passt
In consultation with you, we draw up a treatment plan tailored to your individual daily life and symptoms.
3. Moderne Methoden, die helfen
Focused shockwave therapy (ESWT), for example on the shoulder:
supports the healing process, stimulates blood circulation and breaks up calcifications
Cooled radiofrequency therapy (thermodenervation):
Selectively blocks pain signals – particularly in cases of osteoarthritis of the knee or spine
Neuromuscular electrostimulation:
Strengthens the muscles whilst being gentle on the joints
Acupuncture and medical exercise programmes:
as a complementary treatment
Laser treatment:
high-energy with deep penetration
- to relieve pain and reduce inflammation
- with hyaluronic acid
- with autologous blood (PRP)
- with herbal remedies
Decongestant dressings or stabilising tapes
To achieve the best possible results, we often combine several methods within a single treatment plan.
How does our osteoarthritis treatment help you?
Our aim is to relieve your pain, improve your mobility and enhance your quality of life. By using modern technologies and non-invasive therapies such as euromuscular electrostimulation or thermodenervation, in combination with other treatment methods available at our practice, we offer you a gentle and effective alternative to surgery.

Personalised treatment for osteoarthritis
using a range of therapies
- Acupuncture
- Cooled radiofrequency therapy
- Neuromuscular electrical stimulation
- Medical exercise therapy
Cooled radiofrequency therapy
(thermodenervation)
For pain caused by osteoarthritis, particularly in the spine or knee joints, we use cooled radiofrequency therapy (thermodenervation). This method aims to block pain perception in the affected nerves by creating targeted lesions at the pain-conducting nerve endings. This interrupts the pain signals, which can result in longer-lasting pain relief.
The areas of application for thermodenervation:
- Back pain (lumbar pain) caused by osteoarthritis of the small vertebral joints.
- Knee pain caused by osteoarthritis.
- Prolonging the effect of injections near the spine.
The effects of thermodenervation usually last for up to 24 months, as the nerve endings regrow after a while and the body repairs the damage itself.
How does thermal radiofrequency therapy
(thermodenervation) work?

Our practice offers a full range of treatment options and complementary measures specifically for patients with osteoarthritis. In many cases, we combine different treatment approaches to achieve the best possible results. Shockwave therapy, for example, can be combined with radial shockwave therapy or other treatments such as injections or exercise programmes to ensure a holistic approach to osteoarthritis treatment.

Questions and Answers on Osteoarthritis Treatment
FAQs
Can osteoarthritis be cured by treatment?
Osteoarthritis is a degenerative condition that cannot be completely cured. However, our treatment methods aim to slow the progression of the condition, relieve pain and improve mobility, so that you can continue to lead an active life.
Are there any risks or side effects associated with osteoarthritis treatment?
The treatment methods we use are very gentle and have few side effects. Thermodenervation may cause a slight disturbance in sensation at the treated site, but this usually subsides quickly.
Can osteoarthritis treatment prevent the need for surgery?
In many cases, our non-invasive treatment approaches, such as shockwave therapyor thermodenervation, can delay or even avoid the need for surgery. They are particularly helpful if you are looking for a gentler alternative to surgical treatment.
What other measures do you recommend for osteoarthritis?
In addition to our modern therapies, we often recommend a combination of:
- Exercise to strengthen the muscles and improve joint function.
- Nutritional advice to help reduce excess weight and take the strain off the joints.
- Moderate exercise, such as swimming or cycling, to keep the joints mobile without overloading them.
