In close contact with bone structure and joints
What is chiropractic therapy and how does it help?
Chiropractic therapy, also known to many as ‘joint manipulation’, is a targeted manual treatment method designed to release blockages in the spine or joints. When certain joints can no longer move properly – for example, following one-sided strain, poor posture or a sudden ‘strain’ – this can result in pain, tension or restricted movement.
Using specialised manual techniques and targeted adjustments, these functional problems can be resolved quickly, effectively and without the need for medication.
The benefits of chiropractic treatment
- Immediate diagnosis and removal of blockages.
- Improved mobility and reduced pain.
- Can resolve blockages resulting from many conditions.
- Gentle treatments carry virtually no risks.
The risks associated with improper chiropractic treatment
- If used incorrectly, this may result in injury to the structures.
- Blockages may reoccur, particularly if they have been present for a long time or if there is high muscular tension.
How do we proceed?
The course of treatment for chiropractic therapy at our practice during your first appointment
1. Comprehensive diagnosis
- We identify the location of the pain, whether it radiates, its duration and any additional symptoms.
- We ask about any pre-existing conditions and possible rheumatic disorders.
- During our consultation with you, we will identify any risk factors or aggravating factors.
2. Thorough physical examination
- Examination of the entire musculoskeletal system to identify functional deficits.
- Specific examination of the painful areas through visual inspection, palpation and movement tests.
- Assessment of sensation, strength, coordination, reflexes, balance and movement patterns.
3. Personalised treatment recommendations – tailored to your level of physical strain and physical condition
Everyone is different – and this is particularly true when it comes to musculoskeletal problems. That is why, when selecting the most suitable treatment method, we take into account not only your symptoms but also your personal stress factors, such as your work, sporting activities or any pre-existing conditions.
Based on a thorough examination and an assessment of your physical capacity and individual limitations, we will recommend the treatment that best suits your situation.

Whilst chiropractic therapy establishes ‘deep contact’ with the structures or joints and applies a brief impulse, physiotherapy involves a longer course of treatment of the affected area. Chiropractic therapy aims to immediately release blockages, whilst physiotherapy focuses on long-term strengthening and rehabilitation.

Questions and Answers on Chiropractic Therapy
FAQs
How can I prepare for a chiropractic session?
- Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely.
- Please bring all relevant medical records and a list of your symptoms with you.
Shortening of muscle and tendon structures
In this case, chiropractic treatment will not help you. These muscle shortening issues can cause significant restrictions in movement and must be treated in parallel. As part of our examinations, we diagnose such shortening and demonstrate some initial exercises or stretches. Our sports therapists and sports scientists will then build on this treatment programme.
What does the aftercare involve?
- After the treatment, take a moment to reflect on how you feel and let us know if you notice any changes.
- No specific aftercare is required, but we’ll be happy to show you some exercises or stretches to do at home for preventative purposes, if needed.
