Circulatory monitoring at Dr Beate Helgers’ practices

For your safety during every treatment

At Dr Beate Helgers’ private orthopaedic practices, your safety is our top priority. Particularly when administering injections near the spine or if you have pre-existing medical conditions, we monitor your circulation closely – using an ECG and a finger pulse oximeter. This allows us to measure your heart rhythm, pulse and oxygen saturation in real time, painlessly and reliably.

ECG –
Precise monitoring of cardiovascular function
at our practice

An electrocardiogram (ECG) measures the electrical activity of your heart and provides us with precise information about your heart rhythm and heart function. This enables us to constantly monitor our patients’ well-being throughout their treatment.

When is an ECG used?

  • In the event of dizziness, feeling unwell or circulatory problems
  • As a routine precaution before and during injections near the spine
  • To monitor during physical exertion, e.g. before or after exercise
  • For preventive check-ups in high-risk patients

Finger pulse oximeter –
monitoring of pulse and oxygen saturation

As well as the ECG, we also use a finger pulse oximeter in our surgeries to measure your pulse and the oxygen saturation in your blood.

When is a finger pulse oximeter used?

  • In the event of circulatory problems or feeling unwell
  • Routine monitoring during treatment
  • Before, during and after exercise
